The term "probiotics" was first used by Nobel Prize-winning Russian biologist Ilya Mechnikov. He hypothesized that the bacteria in yogurt could have a beneficial effect on the intestinal microflora. After that, scientists continued to investigate this issue, also using the term "probiotics", which is firmly established in our world.
Probiotics are beneficial bacteria that help the human body function properly. Once in the gut, probiotics compete with pathogenic bacteria, suppressing their growth, thereby normalizing the digestive process.
As for prebiotics, these are the fibers or complex carbohydrates that are broken down in the gut, stimulating the growth and vital activity of the beneficial microflora. The use of prebiotics affects the composition and activity of beneficial microorganisms, which improves the body's protective function and immune response.
When probiotic cultures are combined with prebiotics, a combination called a symbiotic is obtained.
The symbiotic is what, when used, gives the best result in improving the function of the gastrointestinal tract, as well as the whole organism, creating conditions for:
- Restoration of the balance of beneficial bacteria in the intestinal microflora.
- Healthy functioning of all systems of the human body.
- Removal of toxins, which reduces the burden on the kidneys, liver.
- Increasing the body's defenses and resistance to diseases and viruses.
- Improving the mood and restoring psychological health.
- Slowing down the aging process.
