International Leaders Conference 07.10.2019 - 13.10.2019 Hurghada, Egypt - the Valley of the Kings

The International Leaders Conference for DEHolding Partners will be held from October 7th to October 13th!

The next place we will visit is the burial ground of an entire Pharaoh dynasty. The Valley of the Kings is located in a sun-drenched desert, surrounded by rocky inaccessible landscapes, on the west shore of the Nile, opposite the city of Thebes, the political and religious capital of the New Kingdom.

The last Pharaoh whose tomb was built in the Valley of the Kings was Ramses XI, the last Pharaoh of the New Kingdom, but it is not known if he was buried in his tomb. A total of 62 graves have been opened today, though not all belong to the Pharaohs, despite the name of the valley.

You can enter the valley through a narrow passage, and every tomb, carved deep into the rocks, is supposed to resemble the world the diseased person was familiar with. A corridor led to the inner chamber, from where there was a passage to the ceremony room.

Amazing jewellery, scrolls, furniture, ritual objects, statues of various gods and royal emblems - all accompanying Pharaohs on their last voyage.

The most famous tomb in the Valley of the Kings is the Tutankhamun tomb, discovered almost untouched in 1922 by British archaeologist Howard Carter. This discovery was incredibly remarkable due to the fact that the tombs that were in front and behind the Valley of the Kings, had been plundered hundreds of years ago.

Crossing the Nile is possible by small boats. Lunch is served in a buffet restaurant on the river shore. Then you will have the opportunity to visit a souvenir shop.
